MARIETTA, OH – A West Virginia man lost his life in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on I-77 in Washington County, Ohio.
The victim was identified as David Stewart, 31, of Vienna, West Virginia. Troopers say his vehicle veered off the right side of the highway, collided with an embankment, and overturned.
Stewart was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident, resulting in his ejection from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Law enforcement officials have ruled out the involvement of alcohol and drugs as factors contributing to the crash.
