Narrative
HOLLAND, OH – Police report one fatality from a collision involving an Amtrak train and a passenger vehicle at a rail intersection in Holland on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred around 7 a.m. at Front Street/Holloway Avenue rail intersection, which is just west of Rail Park and north of Railroad Street.
The investigation is still in the preliminary stages. Authorities say the train was carrying 160 passengers at the time of the accident, none of whom sustained injuries in the accident.
The driver of the passenger vehicle died in the crash. Authorities haven’t yet released the victim’s identity.
A full investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
