Narrative
BUTLER CO., OH – A wrong-way crash along the highway in central Butler County killed one person and injured two others on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on US-127 just south of Harris Road, which is between Collinsville and Somerville.
Police say that a southbound Toyota Camry entered the northbound lanes of the highway and collided with a northbound Chrysler.
The driver of the northbound vehicle died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identity.
Medics transported both occupants of the Toyota via air ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officials say the wrong-way driver may have been intoxicated. Speed was also likely a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
