Narrative
MEDINA, OH – Three people died, and two people went to the hospital Thursday after a three-vehicle collision in central Medina County.
The accident happened just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 18 and County Road 24, which is just south of York Township Municipality Park.
Police say that a Ram van neglected to heed a stop sign at the intersection and struck a northbound Ford pickup truck. An southbound 18-wheeler then struck both vehicles in the intersection, and the pickup truck caught fire.
The three occupants of the pickup truck died from injuries sustained in the collision. Authorities identified the victims as Joseph Miller, 41, Richard Miller, 67, and a 13-year-old boy.
The drivers of the van and the semi went to the hospital with serious injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
