Narrative
COLUMBUS, OH – A 38-year-old woman died Wednesday when two vehicles struck her along the interstate in east-central Columbus.
The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. on I-70 West between I-270 and Brice Road. This is in the Walnut Hills area.
Police say that the first vehicle fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian in a main lain of the interstate. A second vehicle, described as a 2003 Chrysler Pacifica, then struck the victim.
The pedestrian died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Amber Royston.
The driver of the Chrysler did stop to render aid and speak with police.
A full investigation is underway.
