Narrative
POLK, OH – A 40-year-old man died late Wednesday morning after a semi-truck struck his vehicle at a busy intersection in northeast Ashland County.
The collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of US-42 and OH-302, which is northeast of Ashland and northwest of Redhaw.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of an 18-wheeler neglected to yield the right-of-way at a stop sign and crashed into a sedan.
The driver of the sedan, identified as John Thomas Keener, died at the scene of the accident.
The truck driver, a 37-year-old man from Minnesota, sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization.
The investigation is ongoing.
