Narrative
CINCINNATI, OH – A 21-year-old passenger died, and the driver went to the hospital early Sunday morning after their vehicle crashed along a busy roadway near Withamsville.
The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. on the Ohio Pike between Youngman Drive and May Street, which is just northeast of WT Sports Complex.
The investigation thus far indicates that the driver of the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Jedidiah Marlow, ran off of the roadway and crashed into a parked vehicle and some road signs. A second parked vehicle was also involved in the crash.
The force of the collision threw the passenger from the car, and she died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Jewel Whiting.
Marlow sustained minor injuries in the crash. Police are charging him with driving under the influence and aggravated vehicular homicide.
The investigation is ongoing.
