Narrative
COLUMBUS, OH – Three people were been killed and three others are hospitalized following a major crash in southeast Columbus on Monday.
According to Columbus police, the incident occurred on the 3300 block of Refugee Road near Winchester Pike around 8:05 p.m.
Investigators say a woman driving a 2015 Kia Optima was struck from behind by a man driving a 2007 Honda Pilot. The Honda then crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2008 Nissan Quest traveling in the opposite direction.
The Honda’s driver, 33-year-old Gustavo Roman, was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition but was later pronounced dead. Another passenger in the Honda and the Nissan’s driver also died at the scene.
Three children in the Honda were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital and are listed in stable condition.
