Narrative
GALLIPOLIS, OH – At least two people were injured early Wednesday morning when a semi truck crashed head-on into a passenger vehicle, ran off the road, and slammed into a house.
WSAZ reports that the accident happened on SR-7 shortly after 6:30 AM on April 19, when the passenger vehicle moved into the oncoming lane and struck the semi. The initial collision sent the truck careening off the side of the roadway and into a nearby house with enough force to knock a sleeping woman and her bed down a hill towards the Ohio River below.
Fortunately, the woman suffered only minor injuries. A man who had been making breakfast in a kitchen just a few feet away from the bedroom was unhurt.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was taken by helicopter to an unnamed hospital for treatment of serious injuries. They are facing charges for driving left of center.
