SHEFFIELD TWP., OH – A multi-vehicle crash in Lorain County on Wednesday afternoon left a motorcyclist dead and two others injured.
According to the initial investigation, the 17-year-old driver of a Mazda 3 stopped at a stop sign. However, upon proceeding into SR-57, the driver’s side door was struck by a Yamaha motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been identified as 23-year-old Javier Alvarez.
Both occupants of the Mazda, the 17-year-old driver and 21-year-old passenger, were hospitalized with minor injuries.
