Narrative
FRANKLIN FURNACE, OH – A 33-year-old man died Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash along the highway in southeast Scioto County.
The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on OH-522 in the city of Franklin Furnace. This is near Wayne National Forest and the Ironton Country Club.
Police say the victim lost control of his motorcycle while attempting to pass a slower vehicle on the highway. The victim entered the wrong-side of OH-522 and collided head-on with another vehicle.
Authorities declared the motorcyclist, identified as Clinton Barnard, deceased at the scene.
No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the crash.
