Narrative
SENECA CO., OH – One person died, and another sustained serious injuries Friday in a wrong-way crash along OH-53 in north-central Seneca County.
The accident occurred around 5:40 a.m. on OK-53 near County Road 28, which is just north of Tiffin and south of Fort Seneca.
Police say that a southbound 2011 Nissan Frontier entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a northbound 2018 Ford Fusion.
The driver of the northbound vehicle, identified as 56-year-old John P. Lunsford, died from injuries sustained in the accident.
Medics transported the wrong-way driver via air ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries.
